NOTRE HISTOIRE

Une infrastructure économique, pas de la charité.

LE PROBLÈME

Depuis des décennies, l'approvisionnement canadien repose sur des relations auxquelles les entrepreneurs noirs n'avaient pas accès, des certifications qu'ils ne pouvaient pas obtenir et des voies d'accès au capital qui n'existaient pas pour eux. Résultat : 0,0005 % d'une économie d'approvisionnement annuelle de 70 à 150 G$ atteint les entreprises noires. Non par manque de compétences. Mais à cause de la structure.

LA PREUVE DE CONCEPT

Dans les provinces de l'Atlantique, la Black Business Initiative (BBI) a appliqué un modèle alternatif pendant 30 ans — une infrastructure, pas de la charité. Plus de 1 500 emplois. Plus de 1 000 entrepreneurs. Des centaines de millions de dollars injectés dans l'économie des entreprises noires. Dr Rustum Southwell a dirigé la BBI pendant deux décennies et est mentor de BEBC. BEBC est la BBI à l'échelle nationale.
